Neuronal Representation of Locomotion During Motivated Behavior in the Mouse Anterior Cingulate Cortex

چکیده

The anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) is located within the dorsomedial prefrontal (PFC), and processes facilitates goal-directed behaviors relating to emotion, reward, motor control. However, it unclear how ACC neurons dynamically encode motivated behavior during locomotion. In this study, we examined information for locomotion behavioral outcomes temporally represented by individual ensembles of in mice a self-paced locomotor reward-based task. By recording analyzing activity with microdrive tetrode array while mouse performed task, found that more than two-fifths showed phasic or reward behavior. Some these significant differences their firing rate depending on outcome. Furthermore, applying demixed principal component analysis, population was decomposed into components representing previous/future These results indicated integrate inputs behaviors.

Neural correlates of novel object and novel location recognition behavior in the mouse anterior cingulate cortex.

The anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) is a component of the limbic system implicated in a wide variety of functions spanning motor and sensory information processing, memory, attention, novelty detection, and comparisons of expectation versus outcome. It remains unclear how much of this functional diversity stems from differences in methodology or interpretation versus truly reflecting the range ...

Application of magnetic resonance spectroscopy for evaluating metabolic alteration in anterior cingulate cortex in Alzheimer's disease

Introduction: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia worldwide. Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is often the prodromal stage to AD. Most patients with MCI harbor the pathologic changes of AD and demonstrate transition to AD at a rate of 10–15% per year. Accumulating evidence indicates that the asymmetry changes of left and right brain have happened in the early stage of A...

Medial prefrontal cortex-dorsal anterior cingulate cortex connectivity during behavior selection without an objective correct answer.

Life choices (e.g., occupational choice) often include situations with two or more possible correct answers, thereby putting us in a situation of conflict. Recent reports have described that the evaluation of conflict might be crucially mediated by neural activity in the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex (dACC), although the reduction of conflict might rather be associated with neural activity i...

Dynamic activation of the anterior cingulate cortex during anticipatory anxiety

Based on theoretical models, we investigated the dynamics of brain activation during anticipatory anxiety using functional magnetic resonance imaging and a combined parametric/correlational design. Subjects (16 females) anticipated the application of electrical shocks of varying intensity resulting in four different threat levels. The parametric analysis revealed an inverted U-function of activ...
